Well done Beryl on 25 years' service!
Huge congratulations to administrator Beryl Youren who has notched up 25 years' service at Lakeside Healthcare at Stamford.
She was first "head-hunted" after a chance meeting with Dr Gavin Kelly at the supermarket, originally joining as a part time receptionist in 1997. She worked at St Mary's for the majority of her career before joining the admin team at Sheepmarket 18 months ago.
Beryl said:
'I am in admin data support and my main job, which I love, is registering the new babies. It is lovely to ring the mums up and see what they have named their newborns. When I first started I was a part time receptionist and so it was all paper notes. I used to order the stationery and do a bit of everything. Now everything is computerised and there is a lot of coding, scanning and filing so things have definitely changed over the years. The admin team is a lovely group to be a part of. I work three days a week, which gives me time to enjoy my hobbies of swimming and singing. I am definitely a people person and like the contact I have with the patients. Who would have thought that a chance conversation in a supermarket so many years ago would lead to such a varied and enjoyable career?!'
