Cake sale at Headlands Surgery in aid of Macmillan

Well done to the team at Lakeside Healthcare at Headlands in Kettering who raised more than £120 with a charity cake sale and raffle.

The event, in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support, was organised by receptionist Alison Civil. She said: 'It has been a team effort because people have been really generous by bringing in or baking cakes. I was absolutely overwhelmed at the response from local businesses, including Bosworths, the Odeon, Just Desserts and others who generously donated raffle prizes including cinema tickets, vouchers, hair products, chocolates, alcohol and other goodies!'

Alison has been part of the 30-strong Headlands team for over two years. 'Macmillan Cancer Support is such a worthwhile cause and very close to our hearts, so everyone has pitched in and helped by baking or buying.'

Patient Services Manager Mary Russell said; 'We try to do something like this every year but due to Covid and staffing issues this was the first opportunity we have had to resurrect the cake sale. Alison has put a huge amount of work in so thanks to her, the staff and the local businesses who generously donated prizes, it is hugely appreciated.'
