Dr Adeel Iqbal is looking forward to his new role as Non-Executive Director at Lakeside Headlands. He will represent his colleagues at Management Board and disseminate decisions taken centrally back to the Kettering practice.
Dr Iqbal joined Lakeside since 2016, working at both Kettering and Corby before joining the Headlands team permanently. He draws on a range of experience having previously run a single-handed GP practice in Bradford before working in Dubai. He has also been a CQC adviser and assessor and is looking forward to contributing to Lakeside's development.
Dr Iqbal said: 'I always wanted to be a GP and enjoy the variety of cases that you are presented with. It can be challenging but every day is different and there have been lots of developments including the move to social prescribing and the range of colleagues that you now work with.
'There is definite benefit to being part of a partnership such as Lakeside as you can tap into benefits and economies of scale by working together boldly and strategically. I am looking forward to seeing how the NED role develops and, from my previous experience, I am happy to put forward alternative views if I think they will be beneficial, for both Headlands and Lakeside.'
