"GPs Are on Your Side"

The British Medical Association (BMA) national campaign.

You may have recently seen or heard about the British Medical Association's (BMA) nationalcampaign "GPs are on your side." This campaign calls on the government to address thechallenges facing general practice today across the country.

General Practitioners (GPs) are experts in general medical practice. They undergo over 10 yearsof training to handle complex problems, identify serious symptoms, and determine whenspecialist help at a hospital is necessary.

Did you know that practices receive just £107.57 per year for each patient, regardless of theirhealth needs. This amount is less than the cost of an annual TV licence.

The campaign advocates for a larger share of NHS funding for general practice. This would helpto train and hire more GPs, deliver the services patients require, and make it easier for them andtheir loved ones to get appointments to see a GP and practice team.

We want our patients to know that we're on their side. We want the same things – to be there forour patients and their families when they need us most. Our core values are caring, respect, quality, and teamwork, and we are working harder than ever to ensure our patients receive thebest care from the right clinician when they need it.

Our recent Patient Survey highlighted the challenges our patients face, and we haveimplemented actions to support our patients wherever possible.

Unfortunately, we can only do so much as this is a national issue. That's why we are supportingthis campaign, standing with our patients and colleagues across the country.
