She is the first port of call for patients, Partners and staff and oversees the general running of the practice, from liaising with patients, staffing, rotas, site management and recruitment.
Kirsty said: 'The Northamptonshire practices are working closely and so I meet weekly with the Area Manager, and Patient Services Managers from Kettering and Corby who are all very experienced. We look at systems and streamlining working practices to have a more integrated approach across sites and it is a positive and productive collaboration.'
Kirsty has worked at the Oundle surgery for many years and is very familiar with the practice and remit of her new role: 'I like the logical element and have learned a lot from working with previous Practice Managers. I try to be considered rather than reactive and think "what is the issue, what can we put in place to alleviate it and stop it recurring?"
'I get involved in all aspects of operations, site management, day to day running and making sure that we have the most appropriate workforce, equipment and systems in place. That is why the liaison with colleagues at Kettering and Corby is so important as we all face the same pressures, along with GP practices across the country. I love the variety of the role and that every day is different.
'I have worked with my Oundle colleagues for a long time and really respect what they do and the efforts they make, week in and week out. They are an amazing team. We recently welcomed a new GP Partner and are recruiting for more staff, both clinical, administrative and patient facing. There is a lot to look forward to and I am looking forward to continuing to work with colleagues across the board as my role becomes established.'
