Doctrin, a Swedish system, has been specially adapted for the UK market and includes detailed questionnaires and healthcare advice and signposting to external services if necessary. It will allow us to assign our team so that their skills and specialisms are closely matched to the cases they are reviewing. This makes the best use of our time, resources and clinical/GP capacity, allowing us to handle your cases more efficiently. Please be assured that, if we need to see you in person, you will still be offered a face-to-face appointment.
We will be launching Doctrin for our patients on Wednesday 9 March, however once the platform is configured and tested, patients should be able to submit consultations from the afternoon of Tuesday 8 March for a next day response. It is already in use at several Lakeside practices and attracts very positive patient feedback.
It will replace our existing EConsult platform and our team will respond during normal working hours. Please do not use the platform for urgent or emergency enquiries as it is manned during normal working hours and is intended for non-urgent medical cases and queries only.
GP Partner and Non-Executive Director, Dr Ian Wheatley said:
'There are a range of benefits to our patients from using this system and it has been carefully designed to be easy to use and navigate. Many patients will be keen to use the system as it allows them to contact us at a time and place to suit them. I would like to reassure patients who are not able to use an online platform, that we can be contacted by the usual methods. It just gives our patients added choice and flexibility.'
