The Healthy Outreach Support Team (HOST) event was a 'one-stop' shop involving multiple agencies, including clinicians and social prescribers from Lakeside Healthcare. It is the second targeted event held by HOST for people from across North Northamptonshire and the number of attendees has increased.
Martin Sawers from the Corby Rough Sleepers team said:
'It is a fantastic opportunity for those who are in need to be able to see everybody in one place.'
Housing support officer Jane Johnson from One CIC, attended with a client. She said:
'We are all dedicated to helping getting people back on their feet and independent. This approach can make a huge difference.'
Lakeside's Tackling Inequalities Lead, Darren Whiting said:
'Events like this allow us to build professional relationships with North Northants Council and other organisations across health and social care. We had mental and sexual health practitioners, Citizens Advice, local representation from the Department for Work and Pensions, Bridge Substance Misuse advisors and others, along with our own Lakeside multi-disciplinary team, all working together to help the people who attended. We learn from each other, develop our own capabilities, and our wider service users benefit from that. With longer, colder nights on the horizon, this integrated approach will be repeated so that we can continue to help those experiencing hardship. The next date will be circulated soon.'
