Team is bowled over by wellbeing benefits!

A team of Social Prescribers and volunteers had a taster bowling session to see how the activity could benefit patients' health and wellbeing.

A group comprising social prescribers from the Four Counties Primary Care Network, Lincolnshire Community and Voluntary Service and mental health charity Mindspace were kindly hosted by the Stamford Indoor Bowls Association.

Social prescriber Jo Dunlop said: 'We all work closely together to source and share opportunities for our clients and patients and this visit was a way of networking, sharing news about current initiatives and also trying the activity to see what benefits it offers.

'The association members were keen to share the social and inclusive nature of the sport and open it up to as many people as possible. They also offer friendly 1:1 coaching for new and nervous bowlers which was appreciated by our team! It was a wonderful session and great for our team to experience the wonderful facilities on offer. Events such as this highlight how Four Counties PCN and Lakeside proactively engage with peers and the community, working collaboratively with local charities and community groups.'
