Over the years he has helped thousands of patients and has a particular interest in helping care home residents and those needing palliative care. He also introduced the 'Difficult Day' scheme to help those who are coping with bereavement and the practice also hosts Grief Kind sessions each week.
Dr Carl Pears said: 'Dr Clive Cole has been an integral part of the Hereward practice for 23 years. He moves on to pastures new with our best wishes, but without the burden of being a partner anymore, despite being actively involved in every aspect of partnership over his time here. His passion for training the new generation of GPs has been obvious to all those involved and fruitful for so many of our local practices. The local care home staff and patients will really miss his involvement in their care through his very dedicated PCN care home role.
'Up to recently he was the Four Counties PCN clinical director and one of the Lincolnshire Macmillan GPs shaping frailty and palliative pathways over the years. His IT skills will be missed, but not as much as he will be missed by our staff and patients alike. We wish him good luck for the future and hopefully he will have more time for his family and art - he is open for commissions!'
