At The Stamford Surgery and The Hereward Practice

The Stamford Surgery and The Hereward Practice are taking part in a new NHS-funded pilot programme aimed at supporting patients in Stamford and Bourne who are dealing with menopause, menstrual health issues, and seeking contraception and advice.

This service, called the Women's Health Hub, is part of a pilot programme funded by the NHS Lincolnshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) and managed by the Four Counties Primary Care Network (PCN).

The Women's Health Hub is available at The Stamford Surgery (both the Sheepmarket and St Mary's sites in Stamford) and The Hereward Practice in Bourne.

The ICB aims to include patients in this pilot across Lincolnshire to help better understand the local need for Women's Health services.

This pilot is part of a larger NHS England initiative to improve access to healthcare for individuals experiencing menopause, menstrual health issues, and other related concerns. Women's Health Hubs are being launched nationwide to offer better services for menstrual health, menopause, contraception, and pelvic pain.

To access the Women's Health Hub at either The Stamford Surgery or The Hereward Practice, our patients must meet the criteria set out by the ICB - be aged 16 years and over, referred by their practice, and have a medical need.

Hub services will include menstrual problems assessment and treatment, menopause assessment and treatment, contraceptive counselling and provision of the full range of contraceptive methods, preconception care, breast pain assessment and care, pessary fitting, cervical screening, and screening and treatment for sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and HIV.

Dr Kathryn Berry, GP Partner at The Stamford Surgery, said: "We understand how difficult it can be to deal with menopause and menstrual health issues. This pilot clinic is an important step in offering more targeted care for our patients. We're committed to helping everyone with their health and making sure they get the support they need."

Dr Lindsay Taylor, GP Partner at The Hereward Practice, said: "The Women's Health Hub will help us better meet the health needs of our community. We hope this pilot will enhance the services we already provide and lead to better results for our patients."

Both The Stamford Surgery and The Hereward Practice already offer Women's health services, including support for menstrual health, menopause, and contraception. Through this pilot programme, our eligible patients will have access to the Women's Health Hub.

Those not eligible for the hub will continue to receive the same high standard of care and support through our existing services.

Patients interested in joining the Women's Health Hub Pilot Programme can contact their surgery for more information. Contact details are available on their websites.
